July Wrap Up

This hasn’t been a great month for me. Scotland was hit with a heatwave, which made work very hard and then I had very little energy for reading in my downtime. I got myself into a bit of a reading rut as well. I started Mythos, by Stephen Fry and, although I was enjoying it, I just think that I wasn’t quite in the right frame of mind for that kind of book. So I ended up putting it down without finishing it. But I will certainly revisit it at some other time.

In the end, I read 4 books this month:

The Sealwoman’s Gift, by Sally Magnusson

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid

The Great Alone, by Kristin Hannah

Murder on the Orient Express, by Agatha Christie

I am currently reading Something To Hide, by Deborah Moggach.

My favourite book this month was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which also counted towards my 2021 Reading Women Challenge.

How many books did you read this month? Any new favourites?
