I don’t often read “trendy” books, I am not someone who typically reads what everyone else is reading at the moment, I prefer to pick books based on my personal preference, mood and my TBR pile. But on this occasion, and inspired by Bookstagram and Reese’s Book Club, I bought this audiobook and I am so glad I did!
First and foremost, I love when an author narrates the audiobook version of their own work. I find that the story is so much more personal, especially as this is a memoir. Hearing the stories in the author’s own voice is so much more intimate, you can really hear the emotion and feeling behind every word.
This is an amazing book and one I really needed to read. I am so glad I have this on audiobook as it is a book I think I will revisit a lot during my life, at different stages. Just to fill my mind again with Glennon’s inspiring words, to help me with self-love and relationships, to inspire me and comfort me when raising a child and just to help me to be the best version of myself I can be.
Glennon’s story of finding herself and her love is inspirational enough in itself, but I felt that she was able to find the exact words to describe how we as women are “trained” to act and feel and think. But she is also able to really expressively talk about how to break this cycle, how to focus on ourselves and how it’s okay to be a little “selfish” and be who we were meant to be.
I could go on and on about this book. I loved it and I would recommend it in a heartbeat!
