Another month has gone by and I really did not see this one pass. I have no idea how it’s the end of October already! That means it’s almost Christmas! I have to say that I am loving the change of seasons, the colours here in Scotland are just beautiful and I am looking forward to winter, my favourite season!
With the new restrictions here due to COVID, I have been working fewer hours this month, which has meant more time for reading! I read 7 books this month, 6 physical books and 1 eBook. I am really pleased with that total as some of my October reads were quite big books.
So without further ado, here are my October reads:
The Blackhouse, by Peter May
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, by Paul Torday
The Giver of Stars, by Jojo Moyes
The Fellowship of the Ring, by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Two Towers, by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Return of the King, by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Switch, by Beth O’Leary
And I am currently reading In An Instant, by Suzanne Redfearn.
My favourite book this month was The Giver of Stars. It was a beautiful book, one of my favourite reads of 2020, so look out for my review coming soon.
And I finally read the Lord of the Rings books! I must admit that I have been avoiding them for ages, partly because I tend to avoid anything with a lot of hype surrounding it (except for anything Harry Potter related of course), and partly because I was never really drawn into the whole LOTR world. But I picked up some beautiful editions of all three books at a secondhand book sale last year. They were supposed to be for my boyfriend, in the hopes that he would be more interested in reading if it was something he already knew and liked, but I can’t resist a book…
Long story short, I really enjoyed reading this series and, dare I say it, I am considering watching the films again to see how they differ.
How many books did you read this month? Any new favourites?
